Amy & Shane flew over from Western Australia to have their courthouse wedding in Queenstown and what a memorable day it was! When Amy first emailed I was especially excited when she told me about them and what they were about... "We aren’t very traditional, hence the elopement, so we envisage the photos will be of us exploring and adventuring in the epic scenery surrounding Queenstown, in fancy clothes" A girl after my own heart!
I picked them up from their Hotel after their Courthouse vows and Amy had the perfect dress for adventuring, paired with a gorgeous bunch of flowers from Orange Blossom Designs! Although on our way to our first location (the one Amy had her heart set on) it started to drizzle. Then it started to pour. Then it bucketed down rain. We sat in the car for about 20mins chatting, waiting for the rain to calm down. Normally I would get out there and embrace the weather but this wasn't a light drizzle and I didn't think they would fancy looking like a couple of drowned rats in their photos. So after much deliberation we decided to drive somewhere hoping the rain would stop, Amy & Shane both in happy spirits, and putting their trust in me. I drove up into the mountains where the clouds didn't look as dark, as I drove I was hoping I was right and amazingly I was! We found some awesome spots and we literally did as they wished when they booked me.. we explored and adventured Queenstown's amazing mountains. We had so much fun joking around and to be honest the rain was a blessing because it meant we had heaps of time chatting and getting to know each other in the car, and we also got these really cool moody photos in a location we hadn't planned!
Thank you Amy & Shane for trusting my locals instincts and for being legends up for anything!
