Mia & James' Queenstown wedding was literally in the nick of time before the world flipped on its head and we all got sent to our homes on lockdown until it was safe to come out again. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about... That world pandemic that happened curtesy of Covid-19. We actually found out at the reception of Mia & James' wedding that NZ was closing their borders (all their guests were from Australia) and events of their size would not be possible the following day. All the more reason for their guests to celebrate harder for this lucky couple!
Mia has impeccable fashion taste, just check out her stunning Rue de Seine bohemian side cut out gown. Or her bridesmaids mismatched floral Zimmerman dresses.
Their ceremony and reception was held at one of my all time favourite Queenstown venues, The Winehouse which was dressed up by the very talented florist, Gypsy from The Vase. After the ceremony we adventured to the top of The Remarkables ski-field in a helicopter to get some epic photos and enjoy the quiet time together freshly married. I highly recommend getting some time alone on the wedding day and where better than amongst the mountains where you are all by yourselves (expect for me third wheeling) to take in the fresh air and reset before the reception kicks off.
I loved capturing the laughter and joy of the room during speeches, and then the fashionista Mia snuck off to change into another stunning outfit that was easier to dance in so she could tear up the floor all night long!
I had such a good time hanging out with these guys, they knew how to thrown an epic party at a sweet spot in Queenstown NZ, and everyone was stoked to be there!
